Peter Hayes

Peter was born in Birmingham, 1946. He attended Mosley School of Art & Craft and Birmingham College of Art. From 1972 - 1987 he was the Craft Advisor to the Economical Development for Equatorial and South Africa, the Commonwealth Secretariat Lesotho, Southern Africa, the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Cooperation for Nepal, India, Japan and South Korea and lastly for South West Arts. He is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association and his work has been exhibited worldwide and can be found in many public and private collections. Commissions include; Four Standing Stones, Lansdowne House, Berkley Square, Four Figures, Taiwan Bank, Pylons, Broadgate, London and Mounted Stones with Gold Circle, Ludgate Hill, London, both of which were for Skidmore, Owings & Memi. He has also had several articles published. In the last few years Peter has been interested in larger scale works for the landscape. 'It has given me a whole new challenge of linking the right piece into the right space.'
