Pauline was born in 1974 Born, North London
In 2000 she was Elected a Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and from 2002-06 she was Elected one of their Council Members.
Before painting she completes several drawings or sketches from different angles and viewpoints to help her gain a familiarity and understanding of the subject. These drawings are used later as reference material with notes about colour and texture. She mainly paints on hot pressed paper which is stretched onto a board with tape. She starts painting using a limited palette, adding and mixing colours whilst the painting progresses experimenting using various techniques to achieve spontaneous results.
She has won several Scholarships, Awards, and Prizes including:
‘June Stokes-Roberts Bursary’, The Worshipful Company of Painter Stainers, 1995
‘National Young Artist’, Laing Art Competition, 1999
First Prize, ‘Winsor & Newton Young Artist’, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, 1999
‘Frank Herring Award for Still Life’, 2000
Articles of her work have appeared in ‘The Artist’, November 2005 and February 2006
