| | | | John trained at Harrow College of Art from 1968 to 1970, after which he was assistant to Bryan Newman and Colin Pearson until 1971. He moved to Plymouth in the autumn of 1971 and went on to establish a reputation based on work inspired by traditional English slipware. He has subsequently received wide acclaim for his development of highly individual thrown and altered forms. These are richly decorated with patterns and images, reflecting his interest in Eastern meditative philosophies. He particularly enjoys the personal contact to be found in lecture/demonstrations and has featured in over thirty workshops given in the UK and overseas. He is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association and a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. |
