| | Born in 1952, Jean is a self taught artist living in the South Hams. Painting started as a hobby, but gradually became a more important part of her life. She works mainly in watercolour and acrylic, reflecting, primarily her love of colour. Early inspiration came from a trip to Venice, where she was overwhelmed by the beauty of the architecture reflected in water. Since then her subject matter has broadened considerably, though the influence of Venice with its richness and decorative designs are still apparent. Jean is a member of Plymouth Watercolour Society and Plymouth Arts Club. Her paintings are in collections in this country and abroad and are exhibited in various galleries in the South West |
