Jack's work is porcelain thrown. The surfaces and decoration are built up by adding stained and textured clay. Often the forms are altered while the clay is still soft. He fires with soda vapour to enhance and develop the clay colours. His work has been shown widely including exhibitions at Faenza and Vallauris (awarded gold medals in 1974 and 1976). Solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany and the USA. His pots are in the collections of the Ulster Museum, Crafts Council of Ireland, Liverpool Museum and Cheltenham Museum. Jack is a Council Member and currently Vice Chair of the CPA. |
