Colin was born in 1954 in Barnet, Hertfordshire
From 1971-75 he worked at a commercial art studio in London and took evening classes St Martins School of Art. Then in 1998 he was Elected a Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists followed by Elected Member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in 1991 and Elected a Member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists in 2008.

Most of his work incorporates evidence of man’s influence on the environment and he draws much of his subject matter from farms, markets and the coastline here in the South West. Through the activity and the way the changing light affects the subject, he aims to catch the sense of atmosphere and time at a particular moment.

His method of working is to draw on the spot, catching a sense of time and place. These can be simple studies but are often more complex, allowing me to adjust and alter the image later. In the studio

As well as numerous Scholarships, Awards, Prizes his work has appeared in several publications.
