| | | Bill was born in 1945, Dorset. Having attended Bath Academy, Winchester College of Art and Bournmouth College of Art he became a Lecturer in Illustration at Southampton College of Art in 1971. Five years later he opened his own Gallery in Salisbury, Wiltshire. In 1981 he became a Member of the Association of Illustrators and in 2000 moved to Dorset near Dorchester.
Having been told that he would never make a living painting in watercolour, ‘only abstract oil matters’, by the Principal of Bath Academy of Art in 1962, he has been proving him wrong ever since.
Biil is a Council Member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and has had many solo and shared exhibitions throughout the UK and his work is in many private and public collections in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, France, South Africa, Holland, Belgium and Oman.
